Green Star Commissioning
With the introduction of the green building rating systems by Green Building Council Australia (GBCA), all buildings must be correctly commissioned if a Green Star rating is to be achieved.
- Green Star category Management 2 (Man-2) requires a managed commissioning process.
- Green Star category Management 3 (Man-3) requires a 12-month fine tuning period.
The GBCA rating process requires strict adherence to Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) commissioning codes and American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) management criteria. Codes are:
- Code A: Air systems
- Code B: Boilers
Code C: Controls
- Code L: Lighting
- Code M: Management
- Code R: Refrigeration
- Code W: Water systems
- ASHRAE Guide 1: 1996
