The importance of using an Independent Commissioning Agent (ICA) has grown in recent years. The first reason to use one is to ensure the client gets a fully commissioned building. The second reason is to assist with gaining ‘Design and As Built’ credits.

On this typical project we were engaged during the schematic design period. We advised the team at every step along the way, right through to practical completion which was achieved in May 2010.

At one point commissioning meetings were held on a weekly basis. All sub-contractors had to provide detailed commissioning plans prior to commissioning commencing.

Building features include an operable roof, chilled beams and a chilled water storage tank.

The end result: a successful project for all involved!
