Flowtech Air Conditioning now offers a complete range of pressure testing services, including whole-of-building, individual room and mechanical ductwork.
Pressure testing has occurred in Europe and the USA for many years but it is still in a fledging state in Australia. However, it will become mandatory for many services in the future.
Pressure testing is specifically used to determine what, if any, outside air infiltrates a building during its normal operation. Conditioning of outside air is a major cost in energy consumption. Pressure testing can help to minimise such costs.
Our pressure testing services have delivered immediate results to our clients.

This requirement is new in Australia – mainly due to the advent of the Green Building Council Australia (GBCA) and National Australian Built Environment Rating System (NABERS). A ‘tight’ building is strongly recommended if a chilled beam system has been installed.
Testing is conducted to Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) and Building Services Research and Information Association (BSRIA) standards (UK).
Many facilities now have rooms which require testing because contamination can be an issue. Facilities with these rooms include hospitals, medical factories, animal quarantine areas and universities. Flowtech Air Conditioning can test all clean rooms and isolation rooms during construction and then at periodical intervals to ensure they remain free from contamination.
Improve your duct installation quality by inviting Flowtech Air Conditioning to perform a ductwork pressure test – a must with the advent of green buildings and energy conservation. All testing is carried out to international standards.
It is not uncommon to find duct leakage rates in excess of 10%!
Our ductwork pressure test rig can also test flow rates on other pieces of equipment. We strongly recommend off site testing of components to prevent major issues during commissioning.
